Dr Marvin Firth Featured in The Times and The Sunday Times for Arden Grange VetCare
We are delighted to share that Dr Marvin J Firth was featured in The Times and The Sunday Times in November 2025, discussing the launch of the Arden Grange VetCare range. As an internationally recognised veterinary pathologist and seasoned practitioner, Dr Firth lent his expert insight to an article exploring how targeted nutrition can support the health and wellbeing of dogs with specific medical needs.
The piece highlighted the dilemma many owners face when a vet’s diagnosis suddenly changes what their pets should and should not eat, even when they have always prioritised high-quality nutrition. Arden Grange’s VetCare range was presented as a way to support a dog’s health without compromising on the natural, great‑tasting food they love. The carefully developed, vet‑approved recipes meet strict standards for dogs with specific conditions while still supporting overall vitality and wellbeing.
The VetCare range includes five grain‑free recipes, all available in dry and wet formats, designed to address familiar canine health issues:
- Gastrointestinal (duck with sweet potato), supporting the reduction of intestinal absorptive disorders and aiding maldigestion and chronic pancreatic insufficiency.
- Hypoallergenic (hydrolysed chicken with sweet potato), supporting skin function in cases of dermatosis, hair loss, and ingredient or nutrient intolerances.
- Joint care (turkey with sweet potato), supporting joint metabolism in cases of osteoarthritis.
- Renal (hydrolysed chicken with sweet potato), supporting renal function in chronic renal insufficiency and helping regulate oxalate stone formation.
- Weight control (turkey with sweet potato), helping reduce excessive body weight and regulate glucose supply in cases of diabetes mellitus.
Speaking in the article, Dr Firth emphasised the central role of pets in our lives, noting:
“Our nation’s pets are cherished members of the family, and it’s important that pet owners feel confident they’re doing what’s best for them – especially as their health needs change.”
He also reinforced the importance of nutrition as part of a holistic approach to care, saying:
“Nutrition plays a vital role in their daily vitality and, with the right guidance, treatments and nutritional support, we can help them live healthier lives for longer.”
The feature also celebrated Arden Grange’s 30‑year heritage as a world leader in science‑backed, premium pet nutrition, guided by a promise of “nutrition without compromise”. The VetCare range reflects this ongoing commitment by providing expert, compassionate support for pets with specific dietary needs, helping treasured companions live their best lives.
