Dr Marvin Firth is an experienced and accomplished veterinary surgeon and dual-certified RCVS and American Specialist in Anatomic Pathology. He qualified from the University of Liverpool with first-class honours and distinction, having received scholarships from the Wellcome Trust, the British Equine Veterinary Association, and the University to pursue advanced research in Thoroughbred racehorse imaging, reproductive techniques, and internal medicine across the UK, Europe, and the United States.
Following graduation, Dr Firth has worked in first-opinion, referral, and academic practice, collaborating with leading specialists and researchers at the Royal Veterinary College and in Newmarket under sponsorship from the HBLB and TBA. His research and publications in equine pregnancy and recurrent pregnancy loss have complemented and a continued commitment to advancing clinical excellence, including the writing of national pathology guidelines.
Alongside his pathology expertise, Dr Firth has been a FEI Permitted Treating Veterinarian and has passed the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association examination in Germany. Alongside his clinical knowledge he is able to offer integrative services include acupuncture, Class IV laser therapy, chiropractic and physiotherapy for both equine and canine patients. He accepts referrals and additional opinion requests from veterinary surgeons and clients across the South of England and internationally.
Dr Firth also serves as an expert witness in veterinary-related legal matters, providing specialist opinions grounded in scientific rigour and extensive clinical experience. Beyond clinical and medico-legal practice, he has acted as the Official Veterinary Surgeon for Polo on the Beach and is actively involved in charitable work and outreach supporting equine and canine welfare.
